Potential 2008 presidential candidate's
One of the early barometers of a potential 2008 presidential candidate's viability is how much money they are raising now and nobody on either side of the aisle comes close to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's (D-New York) success, CNN's Robert Yoon reports. Her campaign announced last week that she raised more than $6 million in the first quarter and now has $19.7 million in the bank for her Senate re-election. But Clinton is expected to easily win in November, and federal law allows her to use the money for a presidential bid, should she decide to make a run for the White House.

Can you just imagine if she runs and wins? Although it my be kind of fun to have ol' Bill back in the White House as the First Gentleman!!!!

I do not think mainstream America has become liberal enough to elect a woman, no matter what her politics are. A good portion of Democrats are likely to be uncomfortable with the idea, along with everyone else. People are used to the President being a man.

I personally would have no problem voting for a woman if I thought she was the best candidate (or the one who was the least likely to screw up). I'm really itching to learn who the likely Republican (and other Conservative) candidates will be, but I suspect they're keeping a low profile so the Democrats have less time to prepare.

The thought of another Clinton in the Whitehouse scares the hell out of me. Personally, if a woman is to win the election, I pray that Condoleeza Rice kicks Hillary's ass.

I don't think I can stretch my definition of "Gentleman" quite that far. I distinctly recall not being able to make "Lady" fit her either. My .02 - Peregrino

You would have to put a real retard in there for me to vote for her. Call me sexist, but I'm just being realistic. I don't believe the world is ready for a US president of different gender/ethnicity. The idea stirs to much controversy, and that is exactly why it won't work.

England had a female Prime Minister for many years named Margaret Thatcher.

I'm pretty sure she had no problem dealing with terrorists in Northern Ireland or the invasion of the Falklands. Many would say her social/economic policies caused a hell of a lot of problems in her homeland (I've got quite a few friends over there who hate her for the "poll tax" to this day).

Like all politicrats, there's a lot not to like in Hilary Clinton. I dislike her for some of the same and some different reasons than many here...would I vote for her? It depends who I'm voting against. That's certainly been the case in the past two presidential elections...and the past two govenor elections in NJ(where I reside).
