Must Have a GT of 100
Must have the aptitude to LEARN to swim
That's off the SF recruitment web page
When will it end?
When I put my packet in, you had to have a GT of 110 or better and you had to have a letter from your CO stating you could swim 100 meters with BDU's with boots on.
I could already swim but I had a GT of 105. I worked my ass off to raise that to a 120. If you dont make the standard, work harder. The standard should not be lowered for those that cant make it. Thats like saying " Sorry Doc, your patiant died, but I'm going to pass you because you gave it your all."
I fail the SFAS in 1991 but I didnt cry about it. I didnt make standard and thats it. I'm offended of this because it happening everywhere. If a large group of people fail at something, instead of making them work harder, you lower the standard. to me thats BS. I dont care if the job is bagging food or brain surgery if you dont make the standards of the job, to F$%^ing bad.
Off the soap box, out
