A few amusing moments from the last SOPC class and SFAS 004-06:

*A student crossing a beaver dam at night put his foot through it, and sent a delugeof water through the breach; a few seconds later, a shout of shock and alarm came from another student crossing the creek a few hundred meters downstream.

*One candidate with heel trouble cut the leather heels out of his boots, and walked around with the socks exposed: he was selected.

*One candidate was road-killed a half-hour after the Star began. Furious and disgusted with himself, he did the obvious: he pulled out his sleeping bag, and went to sleep (while the rest of us poor slobs churned through the darkness). He awoke around 6:30, ate some food, had some coffee, and allowed himself to gradually get moving. He finally got rolling around 7..... started running... and still managed to find the rest of his three points before Endex. He was selected.

*The second night of the Star I saw the most spectacular meteor I've ever seen, as bright or brighter than a flare, it lit up the entire forest and actually left a contrail across the night sky. No sound, though.

Congrats bro,

I made it too 18D French. How miserable was that first night of star? Only the few, the chosen will ever know. On another note. Does anyone know when or if the test scores such as DLAB etc wil show on our ERB.

Goose, you need to look around here, do some reading, up your SA about 95 points, fill in your profile, and introduce yourself in the proper place before posting again.

Congrats to you as well.

Cric treated a guy at the SOPC TMC who did this because he had MRSA in his heel. You could have stuck your thumb to the first knuckle in the hole. The guy healed really fast though. If I recall correctly he started SOPC2 a few days after getting back from SFAS.

edit: oh yea - congrats :)

Could have...hell I did put my thumb in it. I have some pics here somewhere. I will try to dig them out and post them in the med forum or in the thread about foot care. It was impressive to say the least.
